 BRV YOGA is a community based yoga studio where everyone is welcome. We aim to provide a serene, intimate and sacred environment in order to bring greater health, happiness and well being into our lives.  BRV has 2 studios and 10+ teachers offering a wide variety of Yoga & Barre classes each week. Each teacher has their own offering and holds space for their students with their own style.  Classes include vinyasa flow, gentle, warm flow, gentle w/ meditation, yin, yoga Nidra, restorative, slow flow, Tai Chi, workshops, 4 week beginners series, Hatha, Community, Chair, Kids, Guys, Barre and many more.  Check out our schedule to see all of our offerings.  35+ weekly classes plus many more workshops and series. We teach, live and breathe the yoga life and invite you to dive "all in" to our offerings.  New to the studio?  We offer new student specials (3 classes for $30 or $99 one month of unlimited).

I have found a tremendous love for teaching yoga. I am a teacher by trade, so teaching comes very natural to me.  I love the flow of a power vinyasa class or the sweet soothing nature of a Gentle class.  Life is a new world with new experiences daily. I bring these experiences into my classes.  Life is constantly changing just as we are constantly changing. No 2 classes of mine are ever the same.  I enjoy holding space for all of my students.  My classes are not just a set of poses, we focus on meditation, breath work, and incorporate some yin and restorative postures in each class as well. For me yoga, has brought a calm, relaxing, and positive energy into my life. I hope to share that with my students as well. I feel that I have finally found my place in this universe. My ultimate goal is share what I have to offer including the studio with my clients  Come meet me on the mat.  I think you will enjoy.  Hope to meet you on your mat.

Erica Woodland creates a safe, sacred space for students to explore and interact with their inner landscapes, honor their highest self, connect with their breath, and learn to listen to and honor their body so they can move mindfully on and off the mat. Her teachings include yoga philosophy, pranayama, visualization, meditation, yoga nidra, and mantra. She is an artist by trade and creates handcrafted reiki infused jewelry & accessories. Off the mat, she enjoys drawing, drumming, hiking, reading, and spending time outdoors with her dog and husband connecting to ‘all that is’.

 

Erica is an RYT-500 and holds certifications in Classical Hatha, Yin Yoga, and Restorative Yoga. She is a USUI Reiki Master, a Munay-Ki Rites initiate, and continues her education in Native American studies, yogic philosophy, and animal reiki.

Erica Woodland

Judy Curiel , PhD, ERYT 500, YACEP, has been teaching yoga since 2007. She has studied Kripalu, Classical and Inner Fire Yoga. She completed five restorative trainings and has been training other teachers in the art of restorative yoga since 2010. She is also certified in ChildLight Yoga, Trauma Informed Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yoga Dance. Judy’s specialities are restorative and very gentle yoga. She loves teaching folks who think they can’t practice yoga by making poses accesible with props and modifications.

I started Hatha yoga in the 90s in a small studio in Kimberton. It open my eyes to a new  Way of being in the world.  In 2000 I was introduced to a power flow class and as I made my way onto my mat every week, I found it to be healing; lending me focus and presence. I made the decision to try teacher training and see where it would lead.  I was 200 hour certified at Seva Power Yoga on 9/11/11 It has been incredibly expensive. My teaching experience has deepened my own practice as well as allowing me to gently introduce Yoga to new students. Being a part of their journey has filled my life in the way I did not expect. I completed my 500 hour training this past year at The Light Within. I am grateful to have an opportunity where I get to see and feel the magic of yoga every day.

Therese Nowlan

Janine began practicing yoga in 2003 when her youngest child entered preschool. She enjoyed the physical challenge and felt energized, yet calmed by the practice. While gaining both strength and flexibility, she was eager to learn more about the anatomy, philosophy and history of yoga. In 2013 she entered the Verge Yoga Teacher Training Program and earned her 200-hour certification through Yoga Alliance.

 

Janine is truly grateful for the experience yoga has brought to her life. She believes that everyone, young and old, can benefit positively from the practice of yoga and meditation. She looks forward to sharing this gift with others both in the studio and in the school setting. Janine continues her yoga education and cultivates her practice of teaching an alignment based class centering on building strength, focus and mindful movement with enthusiasm and laughter.

Janine Greenwood

Amy began her yoga journey over 25 years ago with a Baptiste affiliate studio. What began as a practice for the physical body has evolved into passion for the mind-body connection, and deep connection to the meditative aspects of yoga. Amy completed her Yoga Teacher Training with BRV YOGA in 2017. She enjoys working with children and plans to develop practices connecting kids to the power of their breath, allowing them to settle and naturally engage more mindfully throughout their day.

Amy started practicing yoga 8 years ago, after the birth of her son as a means of exercise for the body and mental clarity.  She enjoys yoga for the flexibility it brings to her body and mind, on an off the mat. Amy was drawn into the deeper practices of yoga, completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training at BRV YOGA in June 2017. Her intention is to teach from a place of authenticity, guiding classes with mind-body integration and balance - with a dose of humor

“I teach yoga because I love how it feels in my body; I have found it a viable vehicle towards change and transformation in my own life. My teaching is braided together by 3 understandings: that everything is spiritual, everything is connected, and everything changes (sometimes by conscious choice, by a gift-like surprise, or by unpredictable life storms). I teach what I practice; I work with self-study, pranayama, physical asana, contemplation, study and meditation.”

Alongside her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, completed at Samadhi Yoga Studio in Manchester, CT (2010) and her 300 hour training completed with Yoganand Michael Carroll and Pranakriya Yoga (2017), Martha has expanded her yoga studies with training in: Yin Yoga, Meditation, Alignment concerns in Yoga, Chakra Yoga and Broga Yoga, Yoga for Men.

The Journey of a thousand years begins with One step.

Cynthia was introduced to Yoga through her granny at the young age of 8. Back then there was no school, no internet and very little written on the practice of Yoga. Her granny had the strongest influence in her life, through dancing, modeling, and art. She’s the one that also introduced Cynthia to a holistic way of life. Fast forward, after Cynthia’s 5 children were born, Cynthia realized what her granny had been teaching her throughout her life was very important, so Cynthia went onto learning about Essential Oils through Barry Kapp and received her Certification in Aromatherapy. Which is how she came back to Yoga. Cynthia took her training to become a RYT 200 teacher in the Fall of 2017. Cynthia enjoys the practice of Yoga and loves the benefits of it. Cynthia is also certified in Children’s Yoga 

If Cynthia is not at the studio, Most likely she is outside in her garden or with one, if not all of her beautiful 6 grandchildren. 

Cynthia is working at her Masters Aromatherapy and Herbalist Certification.

Yoga allows us to learn and practice skills that, if taken off the mat, can change the way we experience the world.

 

I believe Yoga is a valuable tool in leading a more enriched life. Come to yoga for the physical practice, but stay for the mental benefits.

 

Siubhan has a BA in Sports Medicine and an MS in Exercise Science from the University of Connecticut. Siubhan has worked with College athletes at Trinity College in Hartford, CT providing emergency care and rehabilitation. Upon completion of her Masters degree she became a Program Director for a corporate fitness center in Boston, MA, managing Fitness Instructors and Exercise Physiologist, and providing health education programs within the facility and for their many corporate partners in the Boston area.  Siubhan also worked for Private Insurance Company in Boston providing health screening, lectures, and health education workshops around the greater Boston area.

She is a Master Level Reiki Practitioner and works primarily with Competitive Athletes using a combination of meditation and Reiki to reduce anxiety and improve performance. 

Siubhan is a 200 hr RYT with Yoga Alliance and beings her 500 hour certification this summer.  She enjoys combining her meditative practices with her Athletic Training background for a well grounded physical practice with a strong mindfulness component.

Siubhan lives in West Chester and enjoys an active life as a business owner of The Embroidery Girl, Wife, mother, and avid traveler and adventure seeker.

I've been practicing yoga for nearly 10 years and completed my 200hr YTT in 2017 with Helen Cloots at the Floating Yoga School. I think yoga should be a playful exploration of your boundaries and I try to incorporate that into all my classes. My style is strong vinyasa, often building to a peak pose or sequence. When I'm not on the mat, I teach writing at the University of Pennsylvania. I'm also an avid baker, gardener, and a total pet lover.

Hannah Chapman

Beth has studied yoga for approximately the last twenty years. Her initial introduction to yoga began in graduate school at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music during an opera workshop! Once she moved back to Pennsylvania, Beth practiced Kali Ray Triyoga in West Chester, ashtanga yoga in Chester Springs and various vinyasa/flow, gentle, yin and power-yoga classes in the Phoenixville, Kimberton and Wayne areas. Beth completed her 200-hour YTT program at Verge Yoga Center in Wayne, PA in March, 2019. Beth enjoys traveling and makes every attempt to try new studios abroad as well as to practice solo surrounded by the serenity of nature. When she’s not in the studio, Beth can be found teaching elementary music, singing, playing the organ, baking, training with her Weimaraner, or spending time outside with her husband and two daughters!

 Sara came to yoga 5 years ago, albeit reluctantly. After a challenging period personally and professionally, Sara sought a space that would allow her to be kinder and gentler to herself in both mind and body. She took her first Baptiste-style power yoga class and since then, yoga has become a critical component of her self-care regiment along with meditation; an opportunity to find stillness, kindness and gratitude amidst a sometimes chaotic and often fast-paced world. Over the years, Sara’s practice has evolved to incorporate a slower, intentional-paced flow which includes breathing and meditation. She has practiced and studied with a number of local yoga and meditation instructors, most recently with Brian Centonze, E-RYT 200 and Judy Curiel, Ph.D, E-RYT 500 through ACAC West Chester’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.

Sara Wein

Heather is a retired public school teacher of 36 years with graduate and post-graduate work completed at Kutztown University, University of the Arts,Philadelphia, Eaton Hall College of Education, England, University of Northern Colorado, and La Poggerina in Italy.

For the past 16 years, she has been practicing Tai Chi (initial four year intensive instruction under the direction of Black Belt/Tai Chi Master Michael Roe). She has taught Advanced Tai Chi for White Eagle Martial Arts at Freedom Valley YMCA for 7 years. She teaches Tai Chi for Beginners through the winter months in Florida. As a compliment to this, Heather continues to receive training from numerous instructors with varying styles in Qigong, Tai Chi, and Yoga.

The health benefits of Tai Chi are numerous. Strength, flexibility, focus, and balance are heightened while the mind is calm and centered. "The ability to join in and participate with groups of practitioners in local neighborhoods, NYC, and China is thrilling, humbling, and beautifully moving”.

Heather Boyln-Becker

Jennifer has been dancing with all her heart since age 6 and can not stop moving. Her extensive training is a combination of ballet, tap, and jazz classes and lead to the corpse of the ballet and various leads in the Nutcracker with the Great Valley Dance Theater. Her love of horses took over for years until she yearned for ballroom dance excitement and then reconnected with her dance partner to finally bring her back to her love of ballet, point, and partnering. Sharing her love and knowledge of dance ignites the passion in her to share the beautiful art of ballet in the best fitness environment possible. Her hospital career as a Medical Technologist keeps her focused on how precious it is to make the most of every day and to take care of our bodies with proper exercise and nutrition. Jennifer is also very passionate about nutrition and provides the Kimberton community with farm fresh eggs from hens raised on her property. When not dancing or working she enjoys riding her horse, spending time with friends, enjoying her home and enjoying life itself.
